Ambika Rao is an Indian actress and assistant director who works primarily in Malayalam films. She is known for her role as Baby’s mother in the Malayalam film Kumbalangi Nights (2019). She died of cardiac arrest on June 27, 2022.

In 2019, she was diagnosed with dialysis. In 2020, she spent all her savings on her brother who suffered a cardiac arrest, and her own treatment was suspended. In 2020, she needed money to treat herself, so she asked fans for help. She wrote in a social media post,
Dialysis took a huge toll on my health; I couldn’t work like I used to. Additionally, the lockdown and subsequent restrictions severely impacted the film industry and my job opportunities. We need more money to pay for all the medical expenses. So I thought of starting a fundraiser on Ketto.org to ask for people’s help. “
