American Airlines Flight Forced to Abort Landing to Avoid Collision with Plane on Runway

Jet American Airlines was forced to interrupt landing to avoid another aircraft flying in the same area in Virginia.

Flight 2246 American Airlines requested air traffic control to postpone a landing at the Ronald Reagan Washington (DCA) National Airport in Arlington, Va. “In order to allow another aircraft to take off on Tuesday, around 8:20 pm,” on February 25, she announced the airline in a statement to people.

The incident came about 90 minutes before the second similar incident at Midway airport in Chicago on the same day.

Southwest Flight 2504 made a short contact with Tarmac as he poured before accelerating back to the sky to avoid colliding with a private jet on the runway.
