Country singer Alex Miller remembers the victim of a fatal car accident he was recently involved in.
The American Idol The season 19 alum, 20, was not driving either vehicle at the time of the incident, but was a passenger.

“While returning from vacation last night, rising country star Alex Miller and several members of his band were on a bus that was hit by a car,” his manager said in a statement to PEOPLE on Wednesday.
“Unfortunately, the driver of the car died. Alex sends his thoughts and prayers to the gentleman and his family,” the statement continued. “Nobody on the bus was injured. Kentucky State Police are investigating.”
The country artist shared the same message on his social media accounts.
In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, Miller’s manager called the accident “very unfortunate.” He added that he and his client were “very sorry that the driver of the car died”.
On Wednesday, Kentucky State Police also shared a press release detailing the fatal crash.
Members of the Post 11 London Unit investigated a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred [at] around 10:28 p.m. in Rockcastle County on South Wildness Road, they said on their official website.

According to a preliminary report, 53-year-old Mount Vernon resident James M. Mcpheron lost control of his 2004 Toyota Rav4 and veered into the path of Miller’s tour bus, a 1997 Van Hool.
The bus was driven by 43-year-old Lancaster resident Roger D. Miller.
“As a result of the collision, Mr. Mcpheron was transported by Rockcastle EMS to Rockcastle Regional Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Rockcastle County Coroner,” the statement said.

The crash remains under investigation by multiple state law enforcement agencies.
Just a day before the fatal accident, Miller shared an Instagram Reel on his page announcing that he had new music on the way. In his hashtags, he alluded to being in Daytona Beach, Florida.
“Greetings Alex Miller fans! I have a brand new song coming out tomorrow called Oh Odessa and you’re going to love it!” he captioned the post.
In the clip, he and his band members excitedly teased the upcoming release.
Miller got his first taste of stardom when he was a contestant on American Idol 2021 at only 17 years old.
During one episode, he wowed judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan with his rendition of Jimmy Martin’s “Freeborn Man.”
