Amit Tandon worked in the corporate sector before becoming a stand-up comedian. In 2006, he served as Managing Director and CEO of Empyrean Partners for eleven years. In 2012, Amit founded Grandmasters of Comedy, a company focused on bringing comedy into the corporate world. Later, he began to perform stand-up comedy related to daily life, which was well received by the audience. He is known by his stage name “The Married Man”. Amit performs his comedy shows across the globe. He brings Singapore’s comedy showdown show “Comedy Battle to India”. In 2014, he hosted Doordarshan’s show “New Year Show”. He made his debut on YouTube in 2016 with a video titled “Punjabi Family Problems” which went viral and made Amit famous overnight. He subsequently appeared in comedy series such as Comedy Dangal (2018) and Comedians of the World (2019). In 2020, he sang solo on the Netflix show Family Tandoncies. He later appeared in shows like “Chalo Koi Baat Nahi” (2021) and “Comedy Premium League” (2021). In 2022, Amit hosted a comedy show called Good Night India, which aired on Sony SAB. The show aims to provide viewers with a clean, stress-relieving type of comedy. In an interview, Amit discussed bringing back old-school comedy that the whole family can enjoy without any awkward content. He said,
So excited to start this journey. There is a huge market for clean comedy in our country. They can enjoy these with their family without having to worry about jokes that might create an awkward atmosphere in the living room. ”
In 2023, he toured internationally with his YouTube series “Masala Sandwich.” In the same year, he starred in the comedy series Humare Zamane Mein.
