She is the founder of the SMVA Trust, a global non-profit organization established in 1988 in partnership with the United Nations Department of Public Information. The SMVA Trust together with Amma’s volunteer initiative project is called Karunaseva Compassionate Services. The organization provides free education to the underprivileged and provides them with free medical services and facilities. Amma is also the founder and spiritual leader of Manidweepa Maha Samsthanam, which includes Sri Lalita Parameshwari Devi Tri-Shakti Peetham.
