Profession

She made her Bollywood debut in 1983 in Betaab with co-star Sunny Deol. The following years were the prime years of her career and she starred in other hit films such as Sunny (1984), Madhu (1985), Saheb (1985), Naam (1986), Chameli Ki Shaadi (1986), Hudghazi (1987), Waaris (1988), etc. She also played some negative roles in films like “Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman” (1992) and “Aaina” (1993). After the film Rang (1993), she retired from acting.

She returned to acting in 2002 and starred in the March 23, 1931 film Shaheed, in which she played the mother of Bhagat Singh (played by Bobby Deol). She entered the television industry in 2005 with Ekta Kapoor’s family drama Kavyanjali. In 2013, she starred in Aurangzeb, opposite Jackie Shroff after a gap of twenty years. In 2017, she played the role of a principal in the critically acclaimed TV series Hindi Medium.
