An abandoned dog in an empty parking lot has only her bed for comfort

In an empty parking lot in Austin, Texas, a dog named Bluebelle patiently waited for someone to notice him. Elder Pittie has nothing but a dog bed to separate her from the hot pavement.

When help finally arrived, Bluebelle looked at the animal welfare workers with sad, sweet eyes and gratefully accepted the reward from their hands.

“You can tell how grateful Bluebelle was to be rescued and taken to the shelter,” Stephanie McCutcheon, the Austin Animal Center’s marketing and volunteering coordinator, told The Dodo. “Bluebelle drank a lot of water on arrival and slept a lot in a comfortable air-conditioned bed for the first few days.”

Bluebelle, believed to be around 9 years old, is currently receiving much needed care at the Austin Animal Center. Her lost coat and red, rough skin are the result of Demodex mange, a skin infection, and she is being treated for conjunctivitis in both eyes.

“With all her health problems, she’s in a good mood,” McCutcheon said. “He had the sweetest smile and even had a little encouragement in his step. We have an amazing team of animal care staff and veterinarians who took care of him. take care of her very well.” Shelter staff knew that Bluebelle would be more comfortable indoors, and thanks to the puppy’s charming personality, she quickly found a foster family willing to take her in.

McCutcheon said, “Despite her rough appearance, her heart is full of life and she is extremely friendly with people. “She recently met her foster family and their dog, and things are going well so Bluebelle will be leaving the shelter soon!”

Once Bluebell’s health issues are resolved, the sweet elderly woman will begin her search for a family that will forever love her for the rest of her years.

But until that day comes, Zvoncic is just happy to have a roof over his head and a comfortable place to rest and relax in his beloved dog bed.

To help take care of Bluebelle and continue her medical treatment, you can make a donation to the Austin Animal Center.
