- Enter the last two missing digits of your phone number to confirm it, click ‘Submit’.
- Enter the code you received on your phone number and click ‘Confirm’
- Once your code is verified, you will be allowed to change your Yahoo password without using your old password; just enter a new password and click ‘Continue’; avoid using a variation of your old password or personal information. Note- If you’ve enabled two-step verification, you can’t sign in to Yahoo Mail without verification. If you don’t have access to your phone, you can reset your password using your recovery email address.
2. Reset Yahoo Password Without Recovery Phone Number
To reset your Yahoo account password without using a recovery phone number, you need to follow these steps:
- Go to the Yahoo Sign In Assistant
- You will see three options of which ‘Recovery Phone Number’ has already been removed. Now you just need to enter your ‘Login Email Address or Mobile Number’ or ‘Recovery Email Address’ in the blank field and click ‘Continue’.
- You can choose to ‘Verify with Google account’ or ‘Send code by email’ or click ‘See more’
- Yahoo recently added a new recovery option where you can reset your password by scanning a QR code using the mobile device you use to sign in to Yahoo.
- If you choose to ‘Verify with a Google account’, you will simply need to sign in to your Yahoo account by entering your Gmail credentials if you have added a Gmail account as your recovery email address.
- If you select the ‘Email Code’ option, simply enter the verification code sent to your recovery email address and click ‘Confirm’.
- Select the ‘Scan QR Code’ option, you will need to scan the QR code provided by Yahoo; To open the Yahoo Mail app on your phone, go to profile picture > account management > QR scanner; scan the QR code you see on your desktop screen using your mobile device.
