Andre Agassi’s wife, Steffi Graf, was on his mind when he returned to the Australian Open this weekend.
The tennis star, 53, was at the event at Melbourne Park on Sunday for the first time since 2019 to present the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup and Norman Brookes Challenge Cup before the first ball of the tournament was hit.
“Talk to me 🇦🇺❤️!!” Agassi posted a carousel of photos and videos from the event on Instagram. In the first photo from the set, he leaned in and kissed a black-and-white photo of Graf, 54, receiving the trophy in 1994 at the event.
He also posted a video of himself touching a banner with Graf’s name inscribed with the years she won the women’s tournament — 1988, 1989, 1990 and 1994 — before retiring in 1999. Agassi won the men’s tournament in 1995, in 2000, 2001 and 2003, and then retired from the sport in 2006.

Agassi and Graf married in 2001 and have two children together: Jaden Gil Agassi (22) and Jaz Ella Agassi (20).
While in Australia, Agassi revealed the secret to a successful marriage in a radio interview Fifi, Fev and Nick for breakfast.
“You pick your battles, man, you pick your battles,” he said, joking that the first one he learned not to pick was bragging about the trophies he won because, he said, Graf would then just go out and win more than her own to bring home.

In everyday life, he said, “We both struggle with delegation, so if anything, we’re competing over who gets to do what and when.”
However, everything works out in the end because “we each try to exaggerate for the other, let’s put it that way”.
Whatever the couple’s dynamic is, it works. On New Year’s Day, Agassi also posted a sweet photo on Instagram of himself giving Graf a big hug to welcome 2024.
