Mormons identify as Christians, according to various sources. Some non-Mormons, however, see Mormons as non-Christian since some of their beliefs differ from those of Nicene Christianity. Reid was baptized as a student at BYU (Brigham Young University) on August 2, 1980, and his Mormon religion has played an important role in his life ever since.

The head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs was born on March 19, 1958. Andy Reid was born Andrew Walter Reid, the son of Walter Reid and Elizabeth. His father was a stage artist, and his mother was a radiologist. Coach grew up in Los Angeles, California with his older brother Reggie. The Reid brothers are 10 years apart in age. The Reids certainly have a close relationship.
In terms of education, the NFL official attended John Marshall High School. As a young man, the coach worked as a salesman at Dodger Stadium. He also participated in children’s sports at Lemon Grove Recreation Center in East Hollywood, where he was coached by Pete Arbogast. Reid was a member of the offensive line at Glendale Community College. He planned to transfer to Stanford, but a knee ailment prevented him. Reid’s teammate and best friend is Randy Tidwell. BYU head coach LaVell Edwards sought them out and added them to the team to convince Tidwell to attend BYU.
Reid was on the same BYU team as Tom Holmoe and Jim McMahon. In his senior year, BYU won the Holiday Bowl. Reid’s teammates commented that even though he didn’t play much, he was very analytical and paid close attention to offensive coordinator Doug Scovil and Edwards.

The skilled head coach is married and has five children, three boys and two girls. Andy Reid married Tammy on August 8, 1981. Before going down the aisle, the coach and his love dated for a long time. Tammy is said to be a physics teacher at her high school, Birmingham Young University. Ms. Reid grew up in New York, Memphis and Arizona. She has a background in teaching and also volunteers at Laurel House, a shelter for victims of domestic violence. Garrett Reid, the eldest son of Andy Reid, died of a heroin overdose on August 5, 2012.
