Profession

In 2014, he won the youngest Canadian Open title. Later, unable to concentrate on his studies, he dropped out of school in Canada and returned to India. In India, he continued his studies and began shooting training. He then represented Punjab in various shooting championships. In an interview, he shared how he became interested in shooting. He said,
It basically started as a hobby eight years ago. I’ve always been interested in guns and things like that. My dad got me into the game, my interest took off, and everything else went smoothly. It was very difficult because I entered a university in Vancouver. I broke the Canadian national record. Then I have two things. I knew I had to play this sport, but my studies were very difficult for my shooting. There is no way I can do both at the same time. When I came back, I took a stand and my dad was very supportive. I started doing well but had a hard time making decisions. “
In 2017, he trained under US Olympian Vincent Hancock to improve his shooting skills. He has since trained under Norwegian striker Tore Browald.
In 2018, he set a world record of 60/60 in men’s skeet shooting at the Asian Shotgun Championships in Kuwait City. In 2019, he won the national championship at the National Shotgun Championships. He has participated in skeet shooting events such as SK125 shooting, skeet mixed team events and skeet men’s team events. His dominant hand in the game is correct, and so is his dominant eye. He was given an Olympic quota to represent India in the two-way shooting event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which was held in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

When the pandemic started, we conducted a trial in Delhi. I finished the trial, came home, and announced lockdown. I’m lucky I’m at home because I have a gym. My diet is under control, my eating and training are in order. After the lockdown was lifted, I was training at the training ground in Chandigarh. “
