Angelina Jolie Brings Back the Opera Glove Trend at TIFF's Without Blood Premiere: See Her Old Hollywood Look

Angelina Jolie continues her style streak on the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival.

On Sunday, September 8, the 49-year-old actress traveled to Canada for the world premiere of her latest project, No Blood. Jolie, who directed the wartime drama, turned heads in a silk, black Dolce & Gabbana dress with detailing on the bottom.

She completed the simple yet elegant look with a pair of elbow-length opera-style silk gloves that oozed old-school glamour. The director parted her long blonde hair down the middle and let her classic dress speak for itself, opting not to wear any jewels for the event.

Jolie was joined at the premiere by her 20-year-old son Pax. Pax, who is recovering from an e-bike accident in July, wore a black suit and tie with dark shades on the red carpet. A scar was visible on his forehead, but he appeared to be in good spirits as he joined the audience in giving his mum and the film crew a standing ovation. (Pax also worked on the film in the assistant director department.)

No Bloodwhich has been described as “a parable-like story about family, war and revenge”, starring Salma Hayek, Demián Bichir and Juan Minujín. The film was shot in the famous Roman studio Cinecittà.

According to the outlet, many of the late singer’s brooches now reside in Cartier’s collection, and Maria costume designer Massimo Cantini Parrini worked with the fashion house to source some of Callas’ pieces.

The brooch that Jolie wore on the red carpet (she also wears it in the film) was a Rose Ouvrante from 1972 in the shape of a flower with diamonds, emeralds, sapphires and rubies. The jewelry also has a special mechanism that opens and closes the flower petals.
