What’s better than an icon? Two, of course.

In a cinematic campaign, Angelina Jolie and Tom Ford Beauty teamed up to launch the luxury brand’s new Runway lip color.

According to a press release, the formula contains a moisturizing complex that nourishes lips while offering fade-resistant color. The collection, which arrives on September 3, will feature 18 shades — 10 existing and eight new.

“A persistent trailblazer, Jolie drives her own personal narrative with strength, confidence and an uncompromising commitment to self-expression,” according to a press release about the brand’s partnership with Jolie. “An Academy Award, Golden Globe and Tony Award winner, Jolie has established herself as an international icon in film, theater and fashion.”

Photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the campaign pays “a cinematic homage to female beauty and its power.” In it, Jolie, wearing Runway Lip Color in a bold red shade, prepares to play a character who “loves the camera almost as much as she loves her. A portrait of a woman who makes everything in her look her own, commanding confidence from the power of her signature shade: 16 Scarlet Rouge .”

She added: “If it’s easy to explain, it probably won’t be as fulfilling as it could be. In my life, they never understood me immediately.”
