Anil Gochikar is an Indian bodybuilder who has represented India in various international bodybuilding competitions. Anil shot to fame after pictures of him pulling a chariot during the Jagannath Rath Yatra went viral. He is known locally as the bodyguard of Lord Jagannath of the Jagannath Temple in Prishri, Odisha.

Anil started working out in the gym in 2009. Anil Gochikar received his professional training at Alok Behera, Mumbai. Anil first participated in a bodybuilding competition in 2012 when he participated in the 50th Odisha Senior State Bodybuilding Championships. The weight limit is 65 kg, so Anil weighs 64.5 kg and has to go through grueling runs to lose 400 grams. Anil won the gold medal in this competition. Anil then participated in various national and international bodybuilding competitions.
Hotel and gym owners
Anil and Damodar Gochhikar have been running their father’s ‘Hotel Gochhikar’ in Puri district of Odisha since his death in 2006. Hotel Gochhikar houses a gym called Gocchikar Life Style-GYM, run by the Gochhikar brothers.

In January 2022, Anil and his mother held a dharna near the Collector’s office in Puri, accusing the government of forcibly evicting them from the building near the Jagannath temple without paying any compensation. According to Anil, their building was forcibly demolished and the case is still pending in the Odisha High Court.
