Anil Nedumangad was born on Tuesday, May 30, 1972 (48 years old at the time of his death). According to some sources, he was born in Nedumangad, Kerala, while according to some other sources, he was born in Malaysia. His star sign is Gemini. He did his BA in Malayalam from MG College, Trivandrum, Kerala. In 1997, he studied drama at the Thrissur Drama School, Kerala.

After graduating from drama, he began working as a theatre artist. Later, his theatre company got the opportunity to perform on the Asian Television Network. He also served as a screenwriter for many comedies.

He started his career as a TV anchor for several TV channels including Kairali TV, Asianet, JaiHind TV, Reporter TV and Kairali News. In 2005, he made a cameo appearance in the Malayalam film Thaskaraveeran. He appeared in several Malayalam films including Kammatti Paadam (2016), Kalyanam (2018), Oru Nakshathramulla Aakasham (2019), Porinju Mariyam Jose (2019) and Ayyappanum Koshiyum (2020). His last film was the Malayalam film Paapam Cheyyathavar Kalleriyatte (2020), in which he played the role of Rajan. He was reportedly shooting for the film Peace, starring Joju George, when he died in 2020.

He drowned in the Malankara Dam in Kerala while he went for a swim with his friends on Friday, December 25, 2020. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Multiple South Indian actors shared their displeasure on their social media accounts.
