Anish Bhanwala started competing in the modern pentathlon championships and represented the country at the U-12 Modern Pentathlon World Championships (2013) and the Asian Modern Pentathlon Championships (2015), after which he won the 5th place in the pentathlon. When Anish joined the Indian shooting national team in 2017, he received guidance from the Indian team’s foreign coach Pavel Smirnov. In 2019, Anish won gold, silver and bronze medals at the ISSF Youth World Cup in Sur, Germany. In 2022, he won the silver medal at the World Championships in Cairo with 581 points. Anish Bhanwala then represented India at the 19th Asian Games (2022) in Hangzhou, China in 2023.
