Anjali Mamgai and Sahil Khan were in love but they always denied it but this was revealed in several reality dance shows. They first met at a dance workshop in April 2017. Although they attended the same school in New Delhi, they never met there as Anjali attended morning classes and Sahil attended evening classes. Sahil, like Anjali, is a dancer and both have appeared in several dance reality shows.

Anjali is a freestyle dancer. She enrolled in a dance academy where she learned different forms of dance including break dancing, modern dance and free dance.

After years of hard work, she auditioned for the first season of Dance Deewane, a reality dance show that aired on Colors TV, but was rejected during the audition and was unable to advance to subsequent rounds.
In 2019, Anjali and Sahil auditioned together for Dance+5, a reality dance show aired on Star Plus, but this time they too failed to make it to the next round.
In 2021, she auditioned again for Season 3 of the dance reality show Dance Deewane with her friend Sahil. This season, they both made it to a few rounds but were eliminated in the top five in the final round.
In 2022, Anjali qualified for the Top 16 of the Red Bull Dance Your Style West Indies Finals to be held on September 25, 2022.
India’s Best Dancer (Season 3) 2023
In April 2023, she auditioned for the third season of the reality dance show India’s Best Dancer, which aired on SonyLIV; Anjali mesmerized everyone with her performance and made it to the top 13. With her dancing skills, she won praises from the judges and guests including Mukti Mohan, Hardy Sandhu and Aruna Israeli. Hardy Sandhu appreciated her and said:
Anjali, you did an amazing job. I know you’ve been working hard and helping your family since you were 13 years old. You have come a long way and it can be seen through your dance and smile. Hats off to you. A lot of people are going through hard times and I want to tell them, “If you can do this, everyone can do it.”
With her outstanding performance, she entered the top 5 of the show.
On the day of the show’s finale, Anjali received the highest score and the judges gave her an extra 10 points for her performance, but she failed to beat Samarpan Lama in the audience vote and finished second in the show.

- India’s Best Dancer judge Sonali Bendre was impressed by Anjali’s dance performance and her life’s struggle; she nicknamed her “Sher Bachcha”. She even tied a black thread around her ankle to protect her from the evil eye and fed her food by hand.
- After leaving home at the age of 13, Anjali took on the responsibility of caring for her mother and sisters. She refused to let her mother work and began working on her own to support the family.
- Anjali’s childhood was spent under financial constraints, which prevented her from attending school picnics and trips. To make ends meet, she had to work, which caused her studies to suffer. However, during one of her performances, well-known actress Mukti Mohan was moved by Anjali’s dedication and commitment to her family. Therefore, she offered a scholarship to Anjali to study performing arts at Mukti Manch Institution so that Anjali could receive education effectively.
- On September 30, 2023, actors Govinda, Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon danced with the top 5 contestants in the finals of India’s Best Dancer.
