When did she meet her future husband?
The couple originally met at the training of the Lukasz youth football school in Szamotuly. Their love story started when they were in high school together. Lukasz grew up in Slubice, a border town in the Lubusz Voivodeship, where he spent his youth doing everything as a free spirit, playing football, riding to the lake and so on. His father, a taxi driver at the time, always supported his son’s ambitions and went with him to find professional teams that would ensure a brighter future for him in football.
He joined his local club Polonia Slubice when he was 14 years old. He moved to MSP Szamotuly at the age of 15 and discovered what he wanted to be there. When he was on trial at the club for a few days, he was amazed by the goalkeeper’s skill and ability. Lukasz recalled telling his parents that this was the place he wanted to go. When he was 19, he finished high school and joined Lech from Poznan.
According to Lukasz, his time in Poznań wasn’t the best as things didn’t go as planned, so he left for Legia Warsaw, a club that instilled confidence in him from the start. They told him that they would give him a chance if he performed well, since the goalkeeper Artur Boruc should leave in the next six months.
Lukasz got his chance when Artur went to Celtic. It all started from there. In his debut year in the first division, he won his first title. Then he was invited to the national team. Anna has since represented his country 57 times, including at the 2006 and 2018 FIFA World Cups, UEFA Euro 2008, Euro 2016 and Euro 2020. He describes his move from the Polish league to the Premier League as a “big step” that surprised him .
During the trip, he had various injuries that hurt him mentally. He credits one Arsenal employee with making him a better professional when it comes to psychological preparation. In the 2013-14 season, he was a key member of Arsenal’s FA Cup winning team. After leaving Arsenal, he went to Swansea City, where he says he met some outstanding and quality individuals who helped him develop his game. He signed a three-year contract with West Ham United in 2018 and extended it until June 2022 in March 2021. Lukasz has been questioned many times and he wants to prove everyone wrong. He claims that if addressed correctly, it could really challenge you.
