The latest season of the Food Network series stars Jeff Mauro and Antonia Lofaso as mentors to a group of 10 amateur chefs. Shortly after the first episode aired on Sunday, Jan. 5, followers took to Burrell’s Instagram to ask the longtime Food Network competition series host why she wasn’t on season 28.
“Chef, how come you’re not doing the worst chefs this season. It’s your show,” one fan asked in a Jan. 10 post. Burrell replied: “Uuuuughhh… I know. And I don’t know. 🫤🤷🏼♀️❤️” Another fan commented on the January 15 pasta pic, “Looks delicious. I miss you on worst chefs. I’m staying out this season.” Burrell replied: “You and me too Wonderful!!! ❤️”

The celebrity chef was the host – also known as the mentor in the series – on The worst chefs in America since 2010. Its hosts have alternated between seasons of Food Network stars such as Rachael Ray, Robert Irvine, Bobby Flay, Tyler Florence and others.
The current season divides the reality TV stars into teams of heroes, overseen by Mauros, and villains, led by Lofas. Big Brotheris Frankie Grande, The taste of love’with Tiffany Pollard, Love is blindBartise Bowden and others are competing for a cash prize of $25,000 to be donated to a charity of their choice.
