Anupam Agrawal was born on Wednesday, March 17, 1982, in Jodhpur, Rajasthan (age 41; as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Pisces. He went to school in Rajasthan. In 2000, he enrolled in Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, where he received his bachelor’s degree in commerce in 2002. Anupam Agrawal was appointed as IPS officer of SVPNPA on August 1, 2008 and was posted in Karnataka cadre. After completing the training, he was posted to Davangere, Karnataka and was posted as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
After the two-year probation period, he was posted to Ramanagara district as Superintendent of Police (SP). Later he was appointed SP of Vijayapura. In 2014, he was promoted and posted to Belgaum where he was posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order). In August 2016, the Karnataka government appointed him as Director, Youth Empowerment and Sports Department; he served in this position till March 2018.
In December 2018, he became a director of the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation until January 2020. In May 2022, he will take charge of the Karnataka Police Academy. He replaced IPS officer Pravin Madhukar Pawar to assume the charge. He was promoted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mysuru (North-East Zone) in January 2023.
In September 2023, he was appointed as the Mangaluru Police Commissioner. Anupam said in an interview after taking office that he would focus on improving the technology used by the police force and reducing drug trafficking incidents in the city. He said of this matter:
Drug related problems are increasing and my handler Jain has done a lot of work as part of “Nasha Mukt Mangaluru Abhiyan” which is very successful. We will discuss with all officials to see what are the best measures that can be taken to maintain harmony in this area. “

Accused of not allowing athletes to train in stadium
Anupam Agrawal hit the headlines in 2017 when he reportedly banned athletes from using the stadium’s track while he was the director of the Sree Kanteerava Stadium. He reportedly asked athletes not to enter the stadium and ordered several police officers to stand guard outside as his wife exercised inside. He also issued an order to the nearby police station to lodge an FIR against anyone trying to force their way into the stadium. A national-level athlete who was banned from entering said in an interview,
We were stuck at the gate for a long time and were told we were not allowed to enter the stadium. With no other choice, we were all forced to train at Cubbon Park. “
The then Youth Services and Animal Husbandry Minister Pramod Madhwaraj criticized and called for Anupam Agrawal to be punished for issuing such orders to the police department and not allowing athletes Investigation of behavior using stadium tracks. He said in an interview,
The stadium is not the property of the government, nor is it the property of Anupam Agarwal. It is the property of the citizens of this state. A thorough investigation should be conducted and this public servant should be properly impeached. ”
