Anuradha Acharya was born in 1972 in Bikaner, Rajasthan, India (age 51 years as of 2023), but she basically spent most of her life in West Bengal Spent at Krugpool and received his education there. She is a distinguished alumna of IIT (Indian Institute of Technology), Kharagpur, India, where she completed her studies. In 1995, she moved to Chicago, USA, and obtained two graduate degrees in physics and management information systems.

Her father encouraged her to pursue the most suitable goals in life. Although she wanted to become a physicist like her father and even win a Nobel Prize, she later realized her true interest lay in entrepreneurship. She started working at Mantis information, a US telecommunications start-up, where she gained experience in telecommunications, IT and entrepreneurship. A year later, she was working at a consulting firm called SEI Information, helping entrepreneurs network effectively.

After returning to India in late 1999, she started two companies called ‘Bandwidth Bazaar’ (for bandwidth trading) and ‘VoiceGram’ (based on the idea of integrated voice and text mobility). These domain names did not work properly and were eventually shut down. However, Anuradha Acharya still did not give up.

In 2000, she co-founded Ocimum Biosolutions in Hyderabad along with her husband Subash Lingareddy. It was a biotechnology organization focused primarily on product development and contract research, which was completely different from her expertise. From studying physics to genomics, bioinformatics, molecular and computational biology, Anuradha Acharya took a big step. With promising progress in the Human Genome Project (HGP), her efforts are beginning to bear fruit. After some time, she was joined by Dr. Sujata Pammi, another co-founder of Ocimum Biosolutions.

Before and after the launch of Mapmygenome, it faced many difficulties such as a shortage of local talents and insufficient funds. In India, genomic databases are still a new concept trying to find its footing. As per Indian regulations, genomic testing is an unclear concept and therefore there is always uncertainty. Despite all these challenges, Anuradha Acharya achieved her dream project.
Remember, you are an entrepreneur, not a “female tech entrepreneur.” You may encounter twice as hard, be prepared for that. Build a great team and a great product. Create a legacy. ”

She is a lover of poetry, literature, photography, music and fitness. She has published a book about poetry called “Atomic Poch – Random Rhymes at Strange Times – On Science, Non-Science and Nonsense”. . In the book Drug Outsourcing: Discovery and Preclinical Services (Drug Outsourcing, Volume 1), she writes a chapter on Research as a Service (RaaS). She published an article in Nature Biotechnology titled “What Merger Can Do for You.” In addition, she is actively publishing articles in reputable newspapers and magazines.

- While living at the IIT Kharagpur campus, Anuradha became interested in physics and wanted to become a physicist. During school, she spent most of her time in the library, doing experiments in the physics lab, or playing basketball.
- Her father played a huge role in her character development growing up. He taught her many life lessons that enabled her to follow the right path in life.
- During her childhood, her father often rewarded her and her siblings for doing chores around the house. It was another life lesson her father taught them about the value of labor.
