Anya Taylor-Joy would be willing to venture into the unknown for her next role!
In the headline interview for Vogue Hong Kong edition for September 2024, Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga the actress, 28, revealed that she would “love to do a musical”, as she is “a bit addicted to hard work”.
And she would especially like to play FrozenQueen Elsa, voiced by Idina Menzel in animated form, for a hypothetical live-action adaptation.
“I mean Frozen it would be pretty awesome,” Taylor-Joy said when asked about her dream Disney role, being a Disney fan herself. “It would be a lot of fun shooting ice out of her hand.”
“Also, he would be a favorite at any kid’s birthday party,” she added. “All my siblings have children now, so I wish I could say, ‘My aunt is Elsa.’ That would be pretty sick.”

About the potential creation of musicals in general, The Queen’s Gambit star said she “likes having impossible mountains to climb” with her work.
“The idea of having to be able to sing, dance and act at the same time would really excite me,” Taylor-Joy explained.
She is no stranger to the dance part, talking Vogue Hong Kong, “My dance experience has helped me in everything in life,” from the movement itself to the discipline involved.
And she’s not an actress? “I think I would be a travel journalist,” Taykor-Joy said. “I really like traveling and learning about other cultures. I realized that I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie, so I think that plays a part.”
Frozenmeanwhile, it’s taken the world by (ice) storm since the first film hit theaters in 2013, with multiple follow-ups currently in development.

In addition to Menzel, 53, the voice cast for the original film and its 2019 sequel, along with various cameos, includes Kristen Bell as Princess (later Queen) Anna, Jonathan Groff as Kristoff and Josh Gad as Olaf.
Last month at D23, it was revealed that the third installment of the hit franchise will be released in theaters on November 24, 2027.
While the story is for Frozen 3 kept under wraps, Disney Animation chief creative officer Jennifer Lee revealed in October 2023 that she was “thrilled” with what the filmmakers had created so far.
“Every morning last week they made room for me to work with the creative team on it, and I’m thrilled and I’m so excited,” Lee said at the time, per Diversity.
Another thing on the horizon for Frozen franchise is the upcoming Disney+ debut of its stage adaptation. Starring Samantha Barks as Elsa, it will begin airing in 2025.
