Ariana Grande Recalls On-Stage Wardrobe Malfunction with Her Bra During 'Dangerous Woman' Tour: 'It Just Fell'

Ariana Grande reflects on one of her biggest wardrobe malfunctions.

During the “Never Have I Ever” round with Wicked Costars Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey, the singer and actress, 31, recalled the moment her bra came undone mid-performance. “I’ve never had a costume mishap,” Grande said during the video for British Voguepublished on Friday, November 22. She quickly raised her paddle declaring “I have” before recounting the incident.

“My bra came open on stage once,” she said.

“Oh my God, yes,” Erivo, 37, exclaimed in response. “You didn’t even feel the breeze, it was just there.”

“He just fell,” Grande continued, “to the ground.”

Fans think the star is referring to a moment during her Dangerous Woman tour in 2017. In a video captured by audience members, Grande can be seen struggling with her bra clasp during a performance of her song “Into You.”

After the buckle comes open, one of the singer’s back-up dancers tries to fix it, but fails. In the end, Grande holds him in place for the rest of the song.

Grande has been making headlines all along Wicked press tour, especially during her interview moments with Eriva. In a video from Out.com posted on the outlet’s Instagram on Tuesday, Nov. 19, the Costars were informed that several queer fans on social media “took the lyrics of ‘Defying Gravity’ and really held space with it and felt the power in yes.”

Erivo, who plays Elphaba in the film, replied: “I didn’t know that was happening. That’s really powerful. That’s what I wanted.”

“I think it’s very important for [Elphaba] in that moment to not let the things that hurt her, that took away her humanity hold her back,” the star continued, talking about her character’s powerful musical score.

During the interview, Grande gently grabbed one of Eriv’s long fingernails, seemingly in support during the emotional moment.

The video has now gone viral and has been recreated on all social networks.

“I’ve officially been thinking about Ariana holding Cynthia’s nail all day,” one Instagram commenter wrote, adding, “I see this picture every time I close my eyes.”

“I really can’t stop laughing at this. I giggle every time I see it,” wrote another.
