On Wednesday, the singer, 30, took to her Instagram Stories to tease fans by sharing a silhouette photo of herself as Glinda the Good Witch in the upcoming two-part film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical.

In the video, Grande can be seen in costume, in a dress and a tiara while holding a scepter in her hand.

The “thank you, next” hitmaker proved the countdown to the eagerly awaited films has officially begun, as she declared there are only “nine months, 26 days [and] three hours” until the release of the first part.

Grande also shared a fan photo on Instagram about being β€œ300 days to Wicked.”

The musician’s announcements come after actress Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram on Friday as filming drew to a close.

“I’m trying to think of what to say when this day finally comes, and I just can’t, because I honestly don’t have enough words to fully express what this experience means to me, so I’ll leave you with this,” she wrote. “The universe will take things away to make room for the great gifts that await us.”

“THIS moment, this film, these people, this cast, this crew, this director, my Glinda, were the greatest gift I could have ever asked for, and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to bring you this Elphie,” Erivo, 37, added with a photo of her character’s shadow on stage. “I hope that when you meet her, you’ll love her as fiercely as I do. And with that, it’s the end for me, Elphie out!! πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š.”

Grande also shared a funny video on TikTok, showing her and Eriva in their own world on Wicked set.

In the video, the actresses were talking to each other while sitting next to each other. They seemed completely oblivious to the fact that someone was filming them just a few meters away.

As Grande and Erivo spoke, the person holding the camera could be heard saying, “They’re talking to each other and they can’t hear the world. Like, we could be talking about them out loud and they don’t even know what’s going on in the outside world.”

The couple finally noticed the camera, and a confused Grande asked, “What are you talking about?”

The actress captioned her post, “One of our favorite videos ever,” noting that it was shot in 2022 during rehearsals for the upcoming films.

Wicked will be published in two parts, with Wicked: Part One is set to debut in theaters on November 27, 2024, with Wicked Part Two slated for release on November 26, 2025.
