Ariana Grande's Latest Wicked-Inspired Red Carpet Look Resembles Glinda’s Bubble

Ariana Grande continues to embrace her style inspiration Wicked character, Glinda the Good Witch.

The Wicked star, 31, stepped out in a metallic ball gown at the 36th Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards in Palm Springs, California on Friday, January 3rd.

The Golden Globe nominee wore a strapless silver metallic gown with horizontal paneling across the bodice and the entire dress — including her voluminous skirt. The skirt of the dress was shaped in an oversized circle and bubble-like, especially that one Wicked the character’s means of transportation in the film.

The full skirt cinched her waist and heels, revealing her white patent leather pointed toe shoes.

The Eternal Sun The singer kept her accessories to a minimum, but was still full of diamonds. She wore a diamond choker necklace, diamond earrings and a diamond ring on her index finger.

Grande also decided to keep the glamor simple, letting the dress steal the spotlight. The two-time Grammy winner kept her blonde hair in a sleek bun with her Audrey Hepburn-esque baby bangs swept to the side. Her makeup included subtle matte ivory eyeshadow and nude pink glossy lips.

He joined Grande on the carpet Wicked directed by Jon M. Chu. The Step Up the director wore a dark navy blue suit and brown leather loafers.

Grande wasn’t the only one Wicked star to appear. Her colleague, Cynthia Erivo, also attended the event in Palm Springs.

Erivo wore a backless halter dress with a plunging v-neck accented by the dress’ bright white lapels. The Tony winner chose pearl jewelry for her accessories, including dangling earrings and silver and pearl rings.

During Grande and Eriva’s press tour for Wicked movie, embraced their roles as Glinda and Elphaba, while last year they dressed in shades of pink or white and green or black.

Grande was so committed to the role that she completely used her Glinda wardrobe – before she was even cast.

The actress admitted in an exclusive recording for PEOPLE Wicked digital home edition that “had a small portion [her] a wardrobe that was just little pink T-shirts and that, just in case” she got the role.

“I asked myself, ‘What underwear would Glinda wear today?’ Grande joked.

While Grande didn’t reveal if she kept and expanded her Glinda-inspired wardrobe, she told the Diversity she kept her Glinda glam and her blue eyebrows throughout the press tour.

“And, you know, I’m still looking for my eyebrows,” she joked in an interview published Thursday, Jan. 2. “I’ll let you know if I find them—I hope not.”
