Ariana Grande’s Mom Wishes Her ‘Sweet, Sweet Angel’ a Happy 31st Birthday

Ariana Grande is being celebrated by her biggest supporter — her mom!

The pop superstar’s mother, Joan Grande, left a sweet comment on her latest Instagram post, which came a day after her 31st birthday.

The post shows a black and white photo of Grande smiling with her eyes closed while eating cucumber slices.

“Thank you and I love you 🫧 hi 31 :),” the Wicked the actress wrote in the description. Her mom added in the comments: “I love you my sweet sweet angel.”

Jonathan Van Ness, who commented: “Happiest birthday queen ❤️❤️”, and Imogen Heap, who reflected on their friendship, joined in the celebration.

“Happy birthday beautiful creature! Xx I’m sending you some boiled lentils and beans (or whatever I cooked!) to mark our meeting for your 21st. Did you spend the evening a little nervous driving up and down a dark rural road to get to Your destination this year? Wow, times were different than X,” the musician wrote.

On Wednesday, Grande also had a moment of reflection, sharing a video of herself singing as a young girl on Instagram.

The comments section was flooded with well wishes from her celebrity friends like Cynthia Erivo and Reese Witherspoon, along with a comment from her older brother Frankie Grande that read: “A STAR IS BORN!! 🫶🫶🫶.”

The “Thank U, Next” singer’s talent is one that her mother previously told PEOPLE was undeniable from a young age.

“She was probably 3, 3½ years old. She was in her car seat and I was driving and listening to NSYNC like any mother should be,” Joan recalled. “She hit one of the JCs [Chasez]’s power high notes and I kind of stopped the car and said, ‘Ariana, was that you?’ ”

Joan told PEOPLE that Grande “didn’t know” she could sing and “thought everyone sounded like that.”

Grande’s relationship with her family remains strong. On National Siblings Day, Frankie shared a lovely tribute to her on Instagram, thanking her for “being there for me through thick and thin”.
