The original film follows Metcalfe’s character John as he dates three girls simultaneously. After breaking up with them all, the girls enlist the help of a fellow student to bring him down and his womanizing habits.

Kebbel, who played Carrie in the film, helped develop the script for the sequel. During the Epic Cons panel, she revealed that it “includes the entire OG cast.” Metcalfe’s character “may or may not get a chance to change” his ways, “which would be very exciting.” However, other cast members revealed that they have yet to be contacted for a sequel. Brittany Snow, who played Kate Spencer in the film, said so to her John Tucker must die podcast by costar Penn Badgley Crushed in July.

“Penn, I don’t know if you got the call, but I didn’t,” Snow, 38, said in the episode. “Yes, I didn’t have a call, no,” the Your star, 38, responded. “I mean, it might be possible as a superposition of quantum physics, like everything is potentially within a field, like, maybe this apple will fall, I can’t really say for sure.”

Badgley played John’s brother Scott Tucker in the film. He said during an episode of the podcast, “I have the smallest role in the movie. I don’t know if I would have belonged in it anyway.” “I won’t do it if you don’t,” Snow replied. Kebbel says most of the original film’s cast are still in touch with each other. She even celebrated co-star Ashanti’s new baby, Kareem Kenkaide Haynes, born in July.
