Arjun Mohan was born in Kannur, Kerala. He received his school education from Chinmaya Vidyalaya School in Tripunithura from 1990 to 2002. From 2002 to 2006, he studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering at National Institute of Technology, Calicut. He received his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, from 2010 to 2012. In 2022, Arjun Mohan completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP) from INSEAD.

Arjun Mohan started his career in July 2006 as a technical staff member at Rambus, an American technology company in Bangalore, Karnataka, where he worked till December 2009. From December 2008 to January 2016, Arjun Mohan worked as a part-time consultant at Byju’s India in Bangalore. In December 2009, he joined Mentor Graphics as a field applications engineer, where he worked until June 2010. Arjun Mohan then interned with HSBC Bank in Mumbai from April 2011 to May 2011. In June 2010, he became the student editor of IIMK Newsletter. Arjun Mohan studied at the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode and served as a member of the Corporate Relations and Employment Committee of IIM (Kozhikode) from September 2010 to March 2012. Subsequently, Arjun Mohan became the TAS Manager at Tata Services, Mumbai in June 2012.

Arjun Mohan then served as National Sales and Operations Manager at Titan Company Limited, Bangalore from June 2013 to January 2016. He subsequently moved to Byju’s as Vice President of Marketing in February 2016 and later became the company’s Chief Commercial Officer. He worked from April 2019 to March 2020. In March 2020, Arjun Mohan became the CEO of upGrad until February 2023. He also served as a part-time board member of Talentedge, Gurgaon from April 2022 to March 2023. In addition, he has also served as a part-time member of the advisory board of the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Calicut, appointed in April 2022, and as a part-time member of the board of directors of The Mom Store, a maternal and child products brand in Bengaluru.

Arjun Mohan was subsequently appointed in March 2023 as a member of the Board of Directors of Sharekhan, an Indian retail brokerage full-service brokerage firm based in Mumbai. Arjun Mohan has expertise in Consumer Behavior, Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management, Mergers, Acquisitions, Corporate Restructuring, Product, Policy and Brand Management and Strategic Marketing from Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode. In September 2023, he returned to Byju’s and was appointed CEO.
