Arpinder Singh or Bobby was born on 30 December 1992 in Harsha Chhina in Amritsar, Punjab, India. He left his mark not only on athletics across the country but around the world. Through sheer hard work and dedication, he climbed the ladder and bagged many trophies to boast about. Initially a 100m runner, Arpinder switched to the triple jump on the recommendation of his school coach. Subsequently, he represented India at many prestigious world stages such as the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games.

In the U-17 school sports meeting, he jumped 13.86m and won a silver medal for himself. He then tried out for the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Ludhiana, and was selected, but only as a day scholar. He failed to get any scholarships and all the financial expenses fell on him.
Although in interviews he said everything was fine. In 2009, he won the Youth Games championship, which was very helpful in improving his financial situation. In 2010, he won the school sports championship and started his upward career path. He always attributes his wins to his mentors and coaches.
