Arun Maini was having a hard time in school when his elder brother gifted him his first Android phone, the Orange San Francisco ZTE Blade. Arun was so impressed with the phone that he decided to take it a step further and learn more about the technology. He ended up learning everything that can be done to an Android phone – from customizing it to improving its performance. On April 22, 2011, he uploaded his first YouTube video, explaining how people can optimize the performance of their smartphones. He initially made videos to share his knowledge with everyone, but soon, YouTube became more than just a hobby for him and he started uploading more videos on his channel. The main problem he faced was not having the funds to buy the latest gadgets and test them, so he would often borrow new gadgets from friends to review them, or review the ones he owned himself. After years of hard work, Arun’s channel has over 5 million subscribers (and counting).

- In August 2015, Arun made a video explaining how one could turn a smartphone into a hologram generator. The video went viral, with over 300,000 views overnight. Arun was contacted by several companies who wanted to discuss the technology and collaborate with him further.
- Arun graduated from the University of Warwick in 2017 with a first class honours degree in Economics. Arun had been running his YouTube channel while studying, and after completing his degree, he turned down a job offer from PwC to run his YouTube channel full time.
