Ashlee Simpson’s 3 Kids: All About Bronx, Jagger and Ziggy

Ashlee Simpson is best known for her music career in the early 2000s, but today she is a busy mom to three children: Bronx, Jagger and Ziggy.

In 2008, the same year she released Little Miss Obsessive, Ashlee had a son, Bronx Mowgli, with her ex-husband Pete Wentz. Years later, after retiring from the music industry and marrying Evan Ross in 2014, the couple had two children – Jagger Snow was born in 2015 and Ziggy Blu in 2020.

During the performance at Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in September 2018, Ashlee and Evan spoke openly about their blended family and their friendly co-parenting relationship with Wentz.

I grew up in a big family, Evan said. “I think it’s a beautiful thing… My relationship with Pete is amazing. He’s an amazing father. He knows I love his son very much, but it’s his son.”

As for the couple’s parenting style, the singer told PEOPLE Now in 2020 that she wants to be open with her kids, letting them “try everything” and not pushing them in any direction.

I think the most important thing is to let them be who they are and find what their passion is, Ashlee said. Her husband agreed, sharing that growing up he had “a lot of creatives” in his life, which gave him the mindset that “you can do whatever you want.”

Ashlee and her ex-husband Wentz welcomed son Bronx on November 20, 2008.

“Ashlee, Pete and baby Bronx are healthy and happy and thank you all for your well wishes!” a spokesperson told PEOPLE at the time.

The former couple got married in an Alice in Wonderland-themed wedding in May 2008, but they split just two and a half years later in February 2011 — Bronx was 2 at the time.

Ashlee’s rep told PEOPLE that she and Wentz are focused on being “deeply committed and loving parents to our son, Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our No. 1 priority.”

When Ashlee married Evan in 2014, the actor said their transition into a blended family was easy. During the performance at The The Wendy Williams Show in February 2015 90210 star detailed his close relationship with the Bronx.

“He’s my friend, we’ve become like friends, we’re good friends,” he said. “It’s amazing. I can’t even tell you how amazing that kid is – he’s amazing! He’s been a blessing in my life and I’ve learned so much from him.”

Coming from a multi-musical family, it seems inevitable that Bronx would develop an interest in music. When he was 6, Ashlee told PEOPLE, “He’s really into music. He loves to dance and he writes songs. They’re good! It’s so cute.”

As for big brother, Ashlee’s oldest takes on that role proudly.

“Bronx is so sweet with her. Jagger is like literally walking into his room while he’s on the phone with his friends and he’s so sweet and loving with her,” the former pop star told PEOPLE Now.

In 2021, Ashlee and her family enjoyed a trip to London. The “Pieces of Me” singer marked the holiday by posting several photos on Instagram from a night out on the town. “London dinner dates with my loves 🤍,” she wrote.

In November 2023, Ashlee shared a birthday tribute to her older son. “Happy birthday BRONX,” the proud mom wrote on her Instagram Story. “Thank you for making me a mom! I can not believe it [sic] 15.”

Jagger Snow Ross, 8

Ashlee and Evan welcomed their first child together, Jagger, on July 30, 2015. The couple announced their daughter’s arrival with a post on Instagram, writing, “We are overjoyed with the birth of our precious baby girl, Jagger Snow Ross.”

Despite this being her second pregnancy, the “Outta My Head” artist told PEOPLE that it feels like a whole new experience.

I think no matter what, with every child it’s different, she said a few months before Jagger’s birth. “It’s new to me too, and it’s been six years, so I said, ‘Let’s go! We have to learn how to swaddle again!’ ”

A few years later, Ashlee and Evan shared the funny events surrounding the birth of their first child. His mother is music legend Diana Ross, and on the day of Jagger’s birth, she walked straight into the delivery room.

“While [Ashlee] was giving birth, we said we were the only ones to do it, but then we saw both of our parents behind the curtain watching,” he told PEOPLE in 2018. “Also, those nurses can’t stop my mom! Like, Diana Ross just walks in.”

When she was 6 years old, Jagger already had great aspirations to follow in her parents’ creative footsteps.

In August 2021, Ashlee posted a photo of Jagger getting ready to start his first day of kindergarten. In the sweet photo, she held a board with some of her career goals, including becoming “an artist, a movie star and [to] walk the runway.”

Just a year later, Jagger was well on her way to fulfilling those dreams. In August 2022, Ashlee posted a photo on Instagram of her daughter’s modeling debut in a campaign for the fashion brand Fear of God. The following year, she posed with both parents for a collection of prints that her mom helped design.

According to Ashlee, Jagger has always been open when it comes to fashion. The “La La” singer told PEOPLE in 2018 that she “loves” dressing Jagger, but has heard feedback about her choices. “If she doesn’t like something, she’ll look in the mirror and tell me,” Ashlee said.

Her modeling debut came a few months after Evan revealed on his Instagram that Jagger had also dabbled in music. Her voice can be heard at the beginning of “Turn Up the Sunshine”, a song that his mother Diana and Tame Impala created for Minions: The Rise of Gru sound track.

As for Jagger’s other creative endeavors, he told PEOPLE Now in 2020 that his daughter is an “amazing artist.” He shared an anecdote about the time she drew a “whole” picture that took him “so long” to complete.

“She made it more special,” the Wicked city star added. “I’m so happy that she’s creative. I think that’s the most important thing, and she’s so good at art, she really is, she’s so talented.”

Ziggy Blu Ross, 3

Ashlee and Evan celebrated the arrival of their second child together, Ziggy, on October 29, 2020.

The couple announced the birth of their son on Instagram, sharing a photo of the newborn wrapped in a blanket with arms gently resting on top of him.

“10-29-2020 Ziggy Blu Ross. Our sweet boy has arrived! I am thrilled, we are so blessed!” Ashlee wrote in her caption while Evan wrote, “I’m in heaven.”

The couple’s son also shares a birthday with his aunt, Tracee Ellis Ross. She posted a since-deleted photo of the newborn with the caption, “ZIGGY BLU and AUNTIE TRACEE ~ birthday twins. This little magical bundle arrived on my birthday. Gift of life! Welcome to the world and family my little nephew. I’m already in love.”

While awaiting their son’s arrival, Evan told PEOPLE Now, “I’m so excited for this little one on the way.”

Ashlee added: “It’s going to be so nice to be back in the newborn stage. Newborn babies smell so good. There’s nothing like it. And we can’t wait for the cuddles!”

When he was just weeks away from his first birthday, Ashlee shared how Ziggy’s two siblings were enjoying being a family of five.

“He has a really sweet personality so he’s a hit,” the mom of three told PEOPLE in October 2021. “Jagger loves to entertain him. She loves to sing and dance for him.”

In June 2022, the couple took Ziggy to see his grandmother perform for the first time. Ashlee, Evan and their three children attended Diana’s performance at the O2 Arena in London.

“Ziggy’s first performance seeing his Ami,” the singer captioned a photo of Evan holding the toddler on her Instagram Story. She also shared a video of her two younger children dancing to “You Can’t Hurry Love.”

Evan celebrated his son’s third birthday in October 2023 with a sweet tribute on Instagram. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY KING ZIGGY. Then I love you more [sic] it’s even possible!!! YOU ARE 3 YEARS OLD,” he wrote in the description.
