Ashley Kalus, a Republican, responded to criticism of offensive communications Wednesday after she was accused of using a homophobic slur for calling a contractor “bottom” in an alleged message.
According to the Boston Globe, a disagreement over renovation costs at the building where Kalus’s husband ran a plastic surgery practice led to obscene and occasionally threatening communications from Kalus.
The text messages were sent and received between November 2018 and December 2019 between Kalus, her husband, and Chicago businessman Mike Gruener, according to the Providence Journal.
