Ashok Shrivastav’s case against Arun Rajbhar
Ashok Shrivastav from Doordarshan has written to the Ghaziabad SSP (Senior Superintendent of Police) saying that Arun Rajbhar, son of Surhadev Samajwadi Party (SBSP) leader OP Rajbhar, has threatened him. This happened as he asked why another journalist was injured during a press conference of leaders Akhilesh Yadav and Jayant Chaudhry in Ghaziabad last week. Shrivastav said a journalist named Khalid Chaudhary was injured by Yadav’s bodyguard when he tried to talk to him at a conference event. After Shrivastav tweeted about it, Arun Rajbal used expletives against him and said journalists like him should also be harmed. Shrivastav believes the threat is serious as Rajbal has links with criminals like Mukhtar Ansari. Shrivastav also mentioned that he was kidnapped before the UP elections in 2012 and feared for his safety. However, the police said that they have not received his complaint and are investigating the matter.
