In 2019, Ashu Singh represented Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University (Jaunpur) in the All India Inter-University Championship. He racked up 15 tackle points in total and averaged a 40.53% shutout rate. In the same year, Ashu was selected by Lucknow Kabaddi team “UP Yoddhas” and made his Pro Kabaddi League debut in Pro Kabaddi League Season 7. He had 89 total tackles and averaged 72.3% of his playing time. The following year, Ashu Singh represented his hometown Kabaddi team in the 67th National Senior Kabaddi Championship held in Jaipur. The Uttar Pradesh team won the bronze medal in the final. In 2021, he was retained by the ‘UP Yoddhas’ team for the Pro Kabaddi League Season 8, where Ashu scored 99 tackles at an average of 86.19% of the playing time.
In 2022, Ashu Singh represented the Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi team in the 36th National Games held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Ashu’s team defeated Maharashtra in the final of the tournament and won the gold medal.
In the same year, he participated in the 9th season of the Professional Kabaddi League as a defender for “UP Yoddhas” and played a total of 23 games with a tackle rate of 47%.
In 2023, Ashu Singh represented the “UP Yoddhas” team in the 10th season of the Professional Kabaddi League. He played a total of 11 games, with a tackle hit rate of 27% and a total of 12 points.
In the same year, he also represented Uttar Pradesh in the 69th National Senior Kabaddi Championship held in Mahendgarh, Haryana. Ashu Singh was also employed by the Indian Railways and became a member of the Indian Railways Kabaddi team, for which he won the Vakarigala Trophy, the All-India Kabaddi Championship held in Karnataka.
In 2023, Ashu Singh also represented Uttar Pradesh in the 37th National Games of India held in Goa. The team defeated the Goa Kabaddi team in the final of the tournament with a total score of 61-30 to win the gold medal.
