Ashvin Luximon Passed Away At The Age Of 38

Ashvin Luximon, who played Asif Malik in EastEnders, died on July 23 from an aneurysm aged 38. He was laid to rest on August 11. After the actor’s death, Luximon’s family set up a memorial website to collect donations for various organizations. In a statement they said,

“Ash’s untimely death has hurt us all deeply, but we want to commemorate his larger-than-life attitude.”

They continued to say,

“Many people liked and adored him. He was an excellent karaoke singer with a voice that could be heard from space! He offered the finest pampering and joy.”

Luximon’s family asked his fans to donate to the likes of the NSPCC and Andy’s Man Club. Ashvin’s family recommended that everyone wear colorful clothes instead of black to commemorate Luximon’s ideas of living life the way he wanted. A casual meeting at The Cavalier bar in Barnet is also planned.

Ashvin Luximon’s character in EastEnders

Asif Malik, played by Ashvin Luximon, first appeared in 1999. He played high school classmate Martin Fowler. In the play, both Fowler and Malik were involved in various problems, including theft and vandalism. Luximon’s character was heavily involved in the plots of Martin and his classmates, Nicky Di Marco and Janine Butcher. In the episode, Malik fell in love with Janine, but it was never reciprocated; he also went on a few dates with Nicky, which didn’t work out.

Luximon, who was born in Enfield, has appeared in 146 episodes of EastEnders. Malik last appeared on the program in October 2003, after completing his A-levels and entering university. After that he was no longer on the show, and the following year it was revealed that he was an Edinburgh resident and getting married when he invited Martina to an off-screen bachelor party. EastEnders, created by Julia Smith and Tony Holland, originally aired in 1985. The show’s narrative, which dealt with themes such as violence, violence, murder and abuse, was both praised and derided.

Twitter users pay tribute

Despite having only two acting credits under his belt, Ashvin Luximon was well known among the audience for his impeccable performances. When news of his death spread, Twitter was flooded with tributes:

Luximon had a key role in Grange Hill in 1997, alongside appearances in EastEnders. He grew up in North London, attending Bowden’s Theater School and Chase Community School.
