In 2021, as the vice-captain of the Sri Lanka Kabaddi team, he won the Bangabandhu Cup after winning the Bangabandhu Cup Kabaddi Tournament in Dhaka.
In March 2023, Aslam Thambi won ” Best of the Game” title.

In 2022, Bengal Warriors purchased him for Rs. 1000000. In the 10th season of the Pro Kabaddi League in 2023, Aslam Thambi played for the Bengal Warriors as a raider and was coached by Kasinata Bhaskaran.
