Apple WWDC23 Swift Student Challenge Winners
While studying at Medi-Caps University in Madhya Pradesh, Asmi Jain discovered that her friend’s uncle suffered from facial paralysis and misaligned eyes after undergoing brain surgery. Jain was determined to help and determined to create an innovative app. She developed an interactive platform that monitors a user’s eye movements as they try to track a ball that circulates on a display. The main purpose of this virtual practice range is to strengthen the eye muscles. Recognizing the potential of her work, Asmi submitted her project to Apple’s WWDC23 Swift Student Challenge and was announced as one of the winners in May 2023.

While the original concept was to help her friend’s uncle, Jain’s vision extended to helping people with a variety of eye diseases and injuries. Asmi spoke about her projects and achievements in an interview, saying:
It was important to me to create a playground of apps that could positively impact the lives of people like him. My next goal is to get feedback and make sure it’s effective and user-friendly, and then publish it on the App Store. Eventually, I would like to expand it so that it helps strengthen all the muscles in the face, and I hope one day it can become a therapeutic tool that people like my friend’s uncle can use at their own pace. “
Along with Asmi Jain, Yemi Agesin and Michelle Caliendo emerge as winners of the WWDC23 Swift Student Challenge. Agesin designed a first-person baseball game that effectively merged his love of sports and filmmaking. Caliendo’s app playground, on the other hand, is a memory game that features anatomically correct pictures of dinosaur fossils that she painstakingly drew using Procreate software on her iPad.
