Baby boy found dead in caravan as cops arrest man, 41, over ‘child neglect’

A MAN has been arrested after a four-month-old boy was found dead in a caravan in Devon.

A 41-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of child neglect following the grim discovery in Plymouth on Wednesday.

Police were called to the address due to concerns for the welfare of the occupants.

Devon and Cornwall Police said a man from Plymouth was arrested for offences, including child neglect, before being released on bail while inquiries continue.

Det Insp Dave Egan said: “The death of the little baby is devastating and our thoughts are with his family at this terrible time.

“A forensic investigation has been launched following the death and our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident and how the death occurred.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or via the police website quoting log 365 of December 18.”
