Born May 12, 1964 in Meridian, Mississippi, Barry was lovingly welcomed into the world by his late parents, Ras Lee Toney, Sr. and the late Lillian Baker “Patsy” Toney, who are now reunited in eternity. After working for Phillips Petroleum Company for many years, he decided to retire earlier than planned.
Sadly, Barry is now the last surviving member of his family, as both his parents and brother, Tracy Bradford “Brad” Toney, have passed away.
A visitation and memorial service for Mr. Toney will be held at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Mississippi on Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friends and family will gather to remember him during this commemoration. Dudley Donald (Kaye), his lifelong best friend and resident of Brandon, Mississippi, will forever cherish the memories together.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023, by the Reverend Pamela Bruns at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Mississippi, as a heartfelt tribute to the departed. Following the funeral rites, Barry’s remains will find their final resting place in the serene Toney Family Cemetery, located near Shubuta, Mississippi.
During the solemn funeral service, the casket will be carried by a group of volunteers who kindly offered their services: Anthony Cran, Martin Jenkins, Robin Fant, Jeff Breeze, Tripp Donald, Kade Donald, Bob Farley and Dudley Donald. Memories of Barry’s warm spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Ras Lee Toney, Sr., and Lillian Baker “Patsy” Toney, as well as his brother, Tracy Bradford “Brad” Toney. A visitation to celebrate Mr. Toney’s life will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Following the visitation, funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Pamela Bruns, will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the same location, Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS. His final resting place will be in the Toney Family Cemetery in Shubuta, MS.
Barry’s touching impact on many lives will be commemorated during the service, with the following serving as pallbearers: Anthony Cran, Martin Jenkins, Robin Fant, Jeff Breeze, Tripp Donald, Kade Donald, Bob Farley and Dudley Donald. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Bible Church in Dallas, TX, a cause close to Barry’s heart.
