Bava Chelladurai is many things: he is an Indian writer, storyteller, actor, literary activist and farmer. Best known for his Tamil short stories, Bawa worked as an actor in the Tamil film industry, with Jai Bhim being one of his biggest blockbusters.

Bava is a well known name in Tamil Storytelling Club. He writes short stories that are unique and contain a “story mantra”. Most of Cheraduri’s works have been translated into English, Hindi and Malayalam, and now also into French, Spanish and German. Bava starts telling stories with his friend JP. He revealed in an interview that the two decided to perform every Friday night at his friend JP’s Quartis Multilingual Dialogue Center in Thiruvananthapuram. Bawa added,
We start this storytelling activity next Friday. Since there was no grand plan, no posters, no banners, we just made a post on Facebook saying that this is where the story was going to take place. About 60 people came to attend. “

The writer leveraged his acting skills and made his debut in the Tamil film industry in 2016 with a film titled Joker, in which he played a comic character.
After his debut, Bawa acted in many Kollywood films. In 2019, he appeared in the Tamil film Peranbu, playing a character named Siddha Kudimagan. The next year, the actor appeared in two films – Psycho as Akbar and Walter as Eshwara Moorthy. In 2021, Bawa played the role of Annan’s husband in the movie “Sennai”. In the same year, he played a politician named Natraja in the critically acclaimed Tamil drama “Jai Bhim” and was praised for his acting skills.

Chelladurai is a popular Tamil writer who started writing in 2011. His debut novel, Ruins of Night, was co-written by Janaki Venkataraman. In 2013, he wrote his second book, Kaalam, with V Nedu Cheziyan. In 2016, Bava published two books as an author: Bashirin Arai Aththanai Elithil Thirakkapadavillai and Dominick. In 2018, he published two more books, “Ella Nalum Karthigai” and “From 19 DM Saron”.

- The storyteller started telling stories on the video platform YouTube in 2010, and as of 2021, his eponymous channel has over 35,000 subscribers. Chelladurai revealed in an interview that he had no such intention; however, his son Vamsi recorded his third and fourth storytelling events and uploaded the videos to YouTube. This eventually started Chelladurai’s YouTube channel. Bawa added,
I actually have this YouTube channel but I don’t know how to get started with it.he [Bava’s son] I just bought a camera and am learning all about photography. “
- Chelladurai, an advocate for Dalit rights, remained a jury member in the 2017 public hearings on Dalit murder cases in Tamil Nadu. Evidence, a Madurai-based NGO, organized the hearing.
- The actor also strongly opposed the construction of drainage pipes in Sonagiri forest in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu.
