BBC Breakfast presenter celebrates milestone moment ahead of major life change

BBC Breakfast presenter Emma Vardy is marking one month since she welcomed her son Jago into the world.

Taking to Instagram Stories on Wednesday, the journalist – who is the BBC’s Ireland correspondent – shared a candid selfie with her baby boy and said: “A month of the most amazing cuddles [blue heart emoji].”

During the summer Emma stepped in for Nina Warhurst who is currently on maternity leave. However, shortly after welcoming her child, the journalist confirmed that she will be leaving her position in Ireland to become the BBC’s LA correspondent.

“We sure have had our hands (and hearts) full lately, now my little family has a big adventure ahead,” she wrote earlier this month. “After an amazing 5 years in Northern Ireland, Jago Fionn @mr_plusone and I are off to real Hollywood!”

Confirming her new role for the BBC, Emma added: “Not for my acting skills, but to become the BBC’s LA correspondent… covering everything from red carpets to the presidential election and catching a few waves.” I absolutely loved my time in Northern Ireland and it will always have a special place in my heart. We will cherish our last weeks before we say goodbye to NI [heart emoji].”

For now, Emma is making the most of her time with her little one before she moves. She recently traveled to the UK, giving fans a glimpse of her journey with her then three-week-old son. Watch the video below…

“Baby Jago is starting his travel career early!! He is 3 weeks old, and the three of us are already on our first flight together on a short trip to friends and family in England. The beginning of many…”, she wrote in the caption.

Her followers were quick to react, with one writing: “You’re a machine. I’m not sure we’d even be able to get on the bus after three weeks.” Another said: “You look fantastic 3 weeks post baby! Huge feat getting on a plane with a baby! Have fun on your travels x.”

A third post read: “WOW! I can’t tell if I’m more impressed by the baby or his parents! Either way, congrats!!”
