BBC Breakfast star flooded with support as she leaves show with goodbye post to fans

BBC Breakfast’s Emma Vardy has been flooded with support after she bid farewell to the show.

Emma, 42, has stood in for Nina Warhurst as a business correspondent in recent weeks, after Nina headed off on maternity leave with baby number three.

However, Emma is also heavily pregnant and in her latest post on X -formerly Twitter – she revealed it was time for her to go and prepare to welcome her baby.

Emma shared a picture sitting on top of two washing machines while holding bits of laundry.

She wore a lime green figure hugging dress which showed off her lovely bump, while she kept her feet comfortable in a pair of white trainers.

She captioned the picture: “Well that’s me off on mat leave!! Resigned to an eternity of housewife chores & dirty laundry. Career girl out. (And if u believe that you’ll believe anything).

“Celebrated the start of this new chapter with cocktails at this perfectly disguised speakeasy!! #TheWashhouse.”

Emma was flooded with comments from her followers and BBC Breakfast fans, with one writing: “All the best Emma … come back soon, you’re one of the best journalists on the Beeb.”

Another added: “All the best and hope to see you back on the screen next year!”

A third tweeted: “Good luck,it was nice having you on BBC breakfast.”

Meanwhile a fourth shared: “Hope all goes well we’ll miss you!”

Last week, Emma shared a snap from the gym as she worked out ahead of giving birth.

She captioned the snap: “Ladies I’d like to hear your experiences of hitting the gym during pregnancy?

“Runners too, what conflicting views, myths, advice did you hear? Do we get enough guidance on exercise during the 9 months? Filming a piece for @BBCBreakfast about this.”
