The journalist was axed from the program last year along with four other stars as the Beeb merged its news channels.
However, last month it was announced that Annita would return to the station and be promoted to main anchor.
Annita celebrated her comeback on social media as fans showered her with support.
Alongside a photo of herself in the studio, she wrote: “….and I’m back. In Studio C with #NewsNow until 15:00 GMT – so good to be bringing you news again.”
Responding to Annita, one fan said: “It’s so good to see you again, it’s like you’ve never been away.”
Another wrote: “So good to see you back @AnnitaBBC , really missed you. Finally an experienced newsreader.”
“Congratulations on your return to BBC News. It was an illusion that you had to reapply for your position,” said a third.
While a fourth commented: “Wonderful news Annita. Welcome back.”
The Times previously reported that all the women would be offered permanent roles to avoid possible legal action.
An insider said: “They are all in litigation and the National Union of Journalists will support them.
“Besides, the BBC is short of presenters so there is no reason to sack them. And they are all capable of the role.
“A reverse ferret is definitely the best plan.”
Martine Croxall recently teased fans that she will be back on air in 2024.
