In today, BBC Merseyside said: “We are sad to tell you that our friend and colleague Andy Ball passed away.
“Andy worked for the BBC Merseyside for almost 30 years as a leader, journalist and part of the managerial team.
“He loved the river and enjoyed nothing more than going to the community exactly throughout Merseyside.
“We will be glad to miss and send all our love and condolence to his wife Lynn and family.”
Andy hosted the BBC Radio Merseyside Breakfast until 2005.
The honors flooded for Andy after a tragic announcement.
A former colleague wrote: “I’m so sad that I hear this news. I worked on Radio Merseyside for a few years, Andy was always so generous with his time and patience with everyone.
“He really loved Liverpool, the station and all the people in it. Such a lasting impact he will have.”
Another said, “Such sad news. I loved the short magic I worked with Andy. Great fun and top journalist and human being.”
Third added, “A great presenter. A wonderful voice. Such a shame. Sam compassion for his family and friends.”
One fan on X said, “Excuse me to hear the news of Andy Ball. One of the best.”
During his career, Andy presented a series of programs at BBC Radio Merseyside, including lunch shows during lunch, middle morning and breakfast shows.
He also participated in a special coverage of events for the station, such as the Sea Odissey Festival 2012 in Liverpool.
The star also often put on shifts on a local community radio station during her career.
His journey began with a local newspaper in Wirral before performing on a commercial radio.
Afterwards, he joined the BBC, served as a member of the Mersesside team before being promoted to the role of news editor Radio Merseyside in 2005.
