Apple sells true wireless headphones under the AirPods line and under the Beats brand. Fans of the latter can choose from the recently released Beats Studio Buds and Beats Fit Pro. Both pairs of headphones are designed to work with Android devices, but the question is, “Which one should Android users buy?”
Android compatibility is something to consider when it comes to Apple products, which is not surprising since Apple designs its products to work with each other. In some cases, the product doesn’t even work with non-Apple devices like the Apple Watch. However, Apple has started selling some of its products such as Beats Studio Buds and Beats Fit Pro to Android users.
Beats Fit Pro is $199.99. It has an Apple H1 chip for audio sharing and auto-switching, adaptive active noise cancellation, transparency mode, spatial audio with dynamic head tracking, IPX4 rating, 6 hours of battery life when turned on. ANC (24 hours with case), USB-C charging and Fast Fuel. Beats Studio Buds are priced at $149.99 ($129.99 at time of writing). For that price, users get active noise cancellation, transparency mode, and IPX4 sweat and water resistance. In addition to the on-device controls, there’s up to 8 hours of battery life (24 hours with the charging case), USB-C charging, Fast Fuel fast charging, Quick Pairing for easy pairing, and Find My ( Apple and Android). Both pairs of headphones work with the Beats Android app.
These beats are different
In addition to the obvious price difference, the Beats Studio Buds and Beats Fit Pro differ in other ways. The Studio Buds not only come in a different design, but also come in a clamshell and come in three colors, while the Fit Pro earbuds come in a clamshell and come in four colors. Studio Buds don’t have an Apple chip, which means Apple-exclusive features like audio sharing and automatic switching are missing. Thankfully, Android users can enjoy the benefits of Google’s Fast Pair service, aka quick pairing on Studio Buds, such as linking the headset to your account, eliminating the need for pairing. Connect to other devices associated with your Google account. It also allows users to easily locate lost headphones by ringing each earphone or simultaneously, and adds the ability to check their last known location with the Find My Device app. mine. Android users who choose Beats Fit Pro will miss out on the benefits of Google Fast Pair because it lacks that feature. Also, the only way to check the battery level is in the Beats app. However, its advantages over the Studio app include having a more advanced Adaptive ANC that adjusts noise cancellation according to the environment. The Beats app also features a Fit Test feature to help users achieve the best sound quality and fit. Beats Fit Pro is also designed to provide a more comfortable and secure fit than Studio Buds thanks to wing tips and in-ear detection.
Beats Studio Buds offers more Android features than Beats Fit Pro, so both are better for Android users. It’s also much cheaper. However, the Beats Fit Pro has better noise cancellation, promises more comfort, and an athlete-oriented design and in-ear detection for automatic pause and play. These are features that users can get from other brands, some of which cost less.
