Beloved BBC Radio star Graham Whyte dies as ‘heartbroken’ family pays tribute

The beloved BBC Radio star Graham Whyte died – with her “broken” family who paid tribute.

The presenter, who joined the BBC Merseyside in 1999, died on Tuesday, his partner said.

Going to Facebook, Anna Petrie wrote: “Our lovely Graham Whyte unfortunately passed away on Tuesday.

“We are all broken and in shock, he will now be there with his mom, dad, slave and Dave. The funeral details will follow in the near future.”

Graham joined the station after his career as a journalist – and he was a legend in the Merseyside community.

Fans rushed to share their sadness, and one said, “Oh no, it’s so sad. I’m sorry I thought of all of you. All my love to all of you.

“I’m so sorry, thinking about all of you and sending love from my whole family.

“It’s terribly sad news. He was a truly dear man with a wonderful sense of humor.”

Another said, “It’s terribly sad news. He was a truly dear man with a wonderful sense of humor.”

And the third echoed, “I’m so sorry.”

It comes after the BBC Radio 1 legend of 1 Andy Peebles died at the age of 76 last week.

In a statement published X, fellow presenter Mike Read said: “It is relaxed to hear the news of our Chuma Andy Peebles.

“He intended to join us at Heritage. We merged with radio. We knew his music from the inside.

“Raise the baton and enjoy a long vacation in the pavilion. We recently lunch with DLT & Adrian Juste. Great inings.”

Radio Pal John Simons added: “So sad to hear the news of the passage of Andy Peebles.

“I will miss our long conversations about football and salt music, of which he was far more famous.

“Tonight there will be a quiet storm in the sky. Rip Andy.”
