Colin MacRae can’t say for sure what happened between Gary King and himself Sailboat below deck member of the production team.
While attending Below deck panel at BravoCon 2023 on Sunday morning, MacRae, 34, fielded a question from a fan about King’s absence from the convention. This comes after King, 34, was removed from the BravoCon lineup following allegations of sexual misconduct by one of the show’s cast members, according to an exposé he wrote Rolling stone in August.
“I talked to him after it all came out,” MacRae told the fan. “I think he is going through a very difficult thing. I don’t think that’s a nice thing for anybody to go through.”

As for whether MacRae thinks anything untoward happened off-screen, he declined to speculate: “I don’t think anyone can comment on that unless they were there. There were two people in that room and they are the only people who know what happened. So yeah, I feel for him.”
In the article, Samantha Suarez, a member of the production team for the fourth season, alleged that King tried to sexually woo her without her consent. Emails sent to the publication said Suarez reported the incident to Bravo producers and human resources representatives for the show’s production company.
Bravo issued a statement at the time that read: “Bravo is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful workplace for the cast and crew of our reality shows. We require our third-party production companies to have appropriate workplace policies and training and a clear procedure on how to report concerns. The concerns raised by Ms Suarez in July 2022 were then investigated and action taken based on the findings.”

King’s former on-screen love, Daisy Kelliher, also declined to talk about the allegations while speaking with PEOPLE at BravoCon. “To be honest, I don’t get involved in it,” she said. “It has nothing to do with me, I wasn’t there and I think it’s best for me not to mix my perspective and my opinion on something that I really shouldn’t be involved in.”
Earlier this week, King indirectly denied the allegations on Instagram. He included hashtags that read “I’m fired [sic] because of lies” and “I would never do that”.
“It’s sad that people will do anything in their power to bring you down. It’s not about how you fall, it’s about how you get up,” King wrote alongside a photo of himself lying in a field of flowers. “Fortunately for me, the fall was in a sea of daisies.” Other hashtags included: “#anythingforaplatform #dontbelieveeverythingyousee #bullshitmedia #ivegotmyheadheldhigh #flowers #wakeupandsmelltheroses #worldisanuglyplace #belowdeck #belowdecksailing #onwardsandupwards.”
