Schools closed in Bengaluru Bandh
Bengaluru Bandh: According to media reports, a state-wide bandh has been announced in Karnataka on September 26, 2023. The bandh has been announced as a protest against the release of 5000 cusecs of Cauvery river water in Tamil Nadu.
According to media reports, schools and colleges will be affected and likely to remain closed. However, students have been advised to wait for the official notification about the holidays.
The Bengaluru-Bandh has been announced by pro-Kannada organizations protesting against the release of Cauvery water in Tamil Nadu from dams in the state. The organizations appealed to schools, colleges and other private entities to support the bandh and shutdown across the state.
Students and parents are advised to stay in touch with their schools and teachers for any updates regarding school closures. Parents have also been advised to rely only on official bandh announcements.
Earlier, a bandh was called on September 11, 2023, involving more than 10 lakh private vehicles and corporate buses that were out of service, as part of the bandh organized by the Karnataka State Federation of Private Transport Associations. During this bandh, several schools remained closed.
It must be noted that the official holidays for schools and colleges on 26 September 2023 have not yet been confirmed and students are advised to wait for official notification.
