Beni Johnson, co-founder of Bethel Church, died on July 13 at the age of 67 after a long battle with cancer. Benia’s husband, Bill, paid tribute to her on Facebook, saying she was now “whole and free”. The post received a flurry of public reaction, even as Benny’s son Brian shared his pain on Instagram, writing: “My mother came home tonight. I love you, mom.”

In 2018, Beni was diagnosed with breast cancer. Doctors then claimed that two tumors on her right breast had been removed. Doctors discovered that he had a mutation in the BR2 gene, which put him at risk of cancer again. Bethel Church has asked everyone to pray for Beni since February 2022, when she had breathing problems.

“As many of you are well aware, Beni Johnson has been on the road to fighting cancer. We prayed regularly and she saw some progress.”
She struggled with the disease for a long time, and the church announced on July 13 that she was at home receiving hospital care. They also said,
“Here’s the current situation: Bill, Beni and their doctors decided late last week that it was time to transition from chemotherapy to palliative care.” Beni is currently receiving hospice care at home.”

The mission of Bethel Church was linked to Beni’s name and intercession. She played a role in the formation of the Intercession Team and the Bethel Prayer House. Johnson also provided a term that the church uses to achieve physiological, religious, and emotional well-being. Her desire was to observe the healthy and free lives of God’s people and see how they pave the way for the re-establishment of a unique state of planetary well-being.
