Beyoncé Announces Release Date for New Album During 2024 Super Bowl: ‘Act II’

Beyoncé has mapped out her next success—and it’s another chapter renaissance!

The “Break My Soul” singer announced that “act ii” of her 2022 album will be released on March 29. In an Instagram clip showing Bey driving through the desert, she gave fans a glimpse of her new — country! – sound. The song, which could be called “Texas Hold ‘Em”, played with the lyrics “This ain’t Texas, ain’t no hold’em, so lay your cards down, down, down, down.”

It all comes after Beyoncé teased her list of “firsts” set to break the internet in a Verizon Wireless commercial.

Some of the moments included cheesy looks at Bey in space, the soul album “Let’s Get Saxy” under the moniker yoncéB, and Beyoncé’s own version of Barbie…or BarBey. Part of the clip saw the musician tease new music and a “surprise drop” as the commercial ended.

Beyoncé’s announcement comes after a big year for the superstar. In 2023, a 42-year-old man visited her renaissance albums globally from May to October. The tour was released on film — with behind-the-scenes content — in Renaissance: The Beyoncé Movie December 1.

“I practically slept during editing, color and mixing,” Beyoncé said in an Instagram post after the film was released. “It’s been a race against time to get this movie out there so soon. But it’s been so worth it. I’m overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from my hive.”

Beyoncé arrived midway through the second quarter of Sunday night’s championship game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. Cheers rang out as the musician entered the stadium using a golf cart.

Earlier in the evening, members of Beyoncé’s family — husband JAY-Z and daughters Blue Ivy, 12, and Rumi, 6 — hit the field ahead of the game. The musical duo share another child, Rumi’s twin, Sir.

Beyoncé’s arrival came before Usher’s halftime performance. The musicians have already collaborated on the song “Love in This Club Part II” and shared the stage for a duo performance of Usher’s “Bad Girl” back in 2004. Although the pair have shared the stage in years past, Beyoncé was not joined by a surprise guest list — including Alicia Keys, HER, Ludacris, Will I Am and Lil Jon.

Other celebrities in attendance Sunday night include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Travis Scott, Blake Lively, Paul McCartney, Bad Bunny, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Lana Del Rey and more.

The Super Bowl night was the Carter family’s second public outing this month after Beyoncé, JAY-Z and Blue attended the 2024 Grammy Awards together on February 4. JAY-Z was honored with the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award and took the opportunity to talk about Beyoncé’s lack of Album of the Year awards.

“But, you know, some things — I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than anybody and she’s never won album of the year,” JAY-Z said, as daughter Blue stood beside him on stage. “So even by your own standards, it doesn’t work. Think about it. Most Grammys, never won album of the year. It doesn’t work.”

He added, “You know, some of you are going to go home tonight feeling like you’ve been robbed. Some of you might be robbed. Some of you don’t belong in either category. No, when I get nervous, I tell the truth.”
